Rewind Tower

Created with Godot — Ranked #1 in the 5th Godot XR Game Jam

This game was created as a submission to the 5th Godot XR Jam featuring a tabletop VR tower defense game where you must strategically wind-up your defense troops. The theme of the jam was: "Rewind".

I worked with a 3D modeler who designed and created all the unique models for the game, and a sound producer who made an amazing soundtrack for this game!

Additionally, this game won:

  • 1st place for Fun (How much fun was the entry to play)
  • 1st place for User Experience (How well was the user interaction implemented).

In total, 23 teams participated in this game jam.

Game Technical Features:

  • Haptic feedback which granted heavy user feedback when doing actions (Ex.: Grabbing/Interacting, Collecting coins, Inserting coins, etc.)
  • Round data manager, managing specific enemy spawns and spawn intervals.
  • Interactables such as drawers, knobs, and cranks developed from scratch.
  • Coin operated machine, made intuitively for VR interactions.
  • Complete tutorial system proceeding after player action events, with tooltips given on unfamiliar game mechanics.
